(#frommydesk is a series of ongoing conversations between ambition and compassion).

When a saree blouse pulls, gapes, or creases, we often assume there is something wrong with the construction. In reality, the challenge lies in how an unyielding woven fabric behaves over the most three-dimensional, living, breathing part of a human body- the bust.

The best part about bespoke is that it gives you direct insight into a client's equation with her clothes. Fitting a saree blouse is fascinating.

It is a known fact that a woman's bust is the toughest area of human anatomy to fit. Mainly because of the play of:

1. Gravity: The weight of the bust depends on Newton's finding.

2. Volume: No 2 shapes are the same.

3. Proximity to movement: Movement of the arm is an important factor to consider.

4. Emotion: The bosom is an emotional part that affects confidence, comfort, ease, and posture.

5. Age: The female body changes structurally over time with hormonal changes across life stages. Age, postpartum tissue, lactation-related fullness, and menopause- each alter bust volume, firmness, and position — all of which directly affect blouse fits.

CHOLIDARLING has been my favourite playground where my team and I research with precision, draft with emotion and deliver with confidence.

I quote Madeleine Vionnet, the lord of the BIAS cut, "When a woman smiles, her dress should smile with her". Even though I believe that, in the saree-blouse's case, the blouse is the reason for a woman to smile.
